Bloomsburg Women's Basketball Falls to Gannon

BLOOMSBURG- The Bloomsburg University women's basketball team fell to Gannon University on Saturday afternoon by a score of 79-52.
The Huskies took a 6-4 lead in the first two minutes of the first half courtesy of two Kelsey Gallagher (East Stroudsburg/East Stroudsburg South) three-pointers. Two early Colleen Kegerreis (Schuylkill Haven/Schuylkill Haven) fouls allowed Gannon to race out to an 18-11 lead over the next six minutes. Gannon would lead by as many as 16 in the first half before Bloomsburg would make a run. Gallagher and Kelly Joyce (Ashland/Cardinal Brennan) would key an 11 point swing to cut the Gannon lead to five, 38-33 at halftime.
In the second half, a Joyce three-pointer would tie the game at 38 with 18:55 remaining, but Gannon would go on a 21-8 run over the next 11 minutes to put the game out of reach.
Gallagher and Kegerreis both scored 16 points to lead the Huskies, while Emily Brown (Phoenixville/Villa Maria Academy) pulled down a career-high nine rebounds. Carrie Nolan led Gannon with 23 points.
With the loss, the Huskies fall to 8-4 this season.
Bloomsburg is back in action tomorrow afternoon when they host Clarion. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m.
